Feel good mix
It’s been a hell of a year so we thought you might be interested in the feel good benefits of some of our Caperitif ingredients. A kind of ‘lift your spirit’ (without the spirits, cause vermouth is wine based and not distilled…)
To name a few of these components:
*Kapokbos (aka snowbush aka wild rosemary; which is in spectacular display around the Swartland at the moment)
Traditional uses by the Khoi and early Cape settlers included as a mood enhancer and relaxant. It was also thought to help with hair growth (that makes me happy!), breaking addictions and letting go of negative emotions. Similar to rosemary, Cape Snowbush has an invigorating effect and acts as an antidepressant, also relieving feelings of stress, anxiety and anger. All useful feelings in 2020…
*Konfettibos (aka Cape May) has sedative qualities to help you chill out.
*Kooigoed (aka Imphepho) clears negative energy, reliefs tension headaches and stress while helping with insomnia. It is also used by local tribes to invoke the ancestors (but I am not sure that will not be a stressful experience for some)
*Camomile – which we all know helps with with sleep and relaxation.
Not pictured in our feel good mix is cloves which is good for brain function!
So, when times are a bit rough and you feel a little stressed out – pour yourself a Caperitif, sit back and let the many benefits and ancestral secrets of our ingredients help you relax.
