THE CAPERITIF STORY

The Caperitif story – this story of the rediscovery and subsequent reemergence of the ghost ingredient – is one of synchronicity and destiny. This is an ultimate story of rebirth featuring an unlikely duo…

Lars Erik Lyndgaard Schmidt – The Danish Mixologist

It was Lars who found the ghost in the pages of the classic Savoy Cocktail Book and was the one to explore the idea of giving life to the spirit again. His search for the ghost ingredient lead him to Adi Badenhorst and the comeback of Caperitif in the world of mixology.

A man of many talents, Caperitif is a favourite amongst Lars’ many projects.

Adi Badenhorst – The African Pioneer

Adi is a father and a husband, a farmer and winemaker. Above all else though, he is a pioneer in the truest sense of the word.  A driving force behind the wine making revolution that has seen the rebirth of the Swartland region as one of South Africa’s most dynamic wine growing regions.

He is innovative in his thinking and in his doing and thus perfectly suited to taking on the task of production of the lost ingredient and to drive the story of rediscovery.
